How to stop hair loss?

Posted by Patricia Debrant on

Hair loss, whether reactive or chronic, is a common problem that can affect everyone, men and women, of all ages. But then what are the causes and especially how to treat hair loss? Here are some tips...

First of all, it seems important to remember that it is normal to lose hair. Hair is renewed throughout our lives, and has a longevity ranging from 3 to 5 years. We can lose between 50 and 100 hairs per day, this is normal and should not be a source of concern. However, when hair loss becomes greater, the lost hair cannot be replaced as quickly and this causes a decrease in hair mass. An anti-hair loss treatment must therefore be initiated. It is also important to remember that there is not only one form of hair loss but several with different causes and consequences: it can be localized or diffuse, affecting the entire scalp, it can be chronic or acute...

What are the causes of hair loss?

There can be many causes and they concern both men and women. Hair loss can be triggered by different factors and depends on each individual. It can occur following significant events:

  • Childbirth: This is a post-partum hair loss that is activated by the hormonal changes that occur during this period. These changes influence the life cycle of the hair and can cause hair loss. In fact, after childbirth (and breastfeeding), a drop in hormones occurs in order to regain a "normal" hormonal balance. This is when hair loss can occur.
  • Fatigue, stress: when faced with these events, the body can send alarm signals and hair loss can be one of these signals.
  • Deficiencies: a lack of vitamins and minerals can lead to hair loss because the bulb is no longer properly "nourished". The hair then tends to fall out more easily. A diet can also cause deficiencies.
  • Seasonal hair loss: With each change of season, hair can tend to fall out.

Reactional hair loss, which lasts only about 6 months, is characterized by a sudden and significant hair loss that is immediately noticeable. It is important to treat it in time so that it does not become chronic! If it becomes chronic (more than 6 months), it will lead to a diffuse and progressive decrease in the hair mass. It is then important to treat the scalp with anti-hair loss treatments but also to identify and eliminate the factor at the origin (stress, hormonal problem, diet...) of this hair loss in order to hope for a return to the normal life cycle of the hair!

Can hair loss be hereditary?

Indeed, it is the most common cause of hair loss. It mainly affects men, although women can also suffer from it, and its origin lies in hormonal imbalance and genetics. Gradually, the hair becomes thinner and thinner, the hair mass decreases and it is with the passing of years that we start to notice it. Certain areas of the scalp begin to recede, which can lead to baldness over time.

How should I treat my hair loss?

As soon as hair loss is noticed, it is important to treat it. The earlier the treatment is undertaken, the more effective it will be! Hair loss should be treated for a minimum of 3 months, as it is your hair's cycle. It is important to combine a food supplement, a natural and gentle strengthening shampoo and a leave-in strengthening lotion in order to treat this problem as a whole. For hereditary hair loss, or even as a preventive measure, it is important to repeat your treatment once or twice a year and to start as soon as possible in order to extend the life of your hair and thus preserve your hair mass as long as possible.

THE RIGHT THING TO DO:

  • Use natural products: in order not to damage your scalp, use natural anti-hair loss products.
  • Take care of your scalp with a natural scrub: the health of your hair depends above all on a healthy scalp. To slow down hair loss, it is therefore important to use products specially designed for your scalp. Scrub your scalp to detoxify it and prevent it from being suffocated by impurities, but also to reactivate the microcirculation.
  • Massage your scalp: Massage it in a circular motion in order to reactivate the microcirculation, providing it with all the nutrients necessary for its health.
  • Adopt a healthy and balanced diet: it is the diet that provides the vitamins and minerals necessary for your hair. A poor diet can lead to hair loss.
  • Take an anti-hair loss treatment: hair loss requires a change in hair care habits. For 3 months, use an anti-hair loss shampoo and an anti-hair loss treatment lotion to stop hair loss and re-launch the growth of your hair.
  • Don't forget to take care of your lengths: you mustn't forget to moisturize and nourish your lengths to preserve the quality of your hair.
